United Methodist Women (UMW)

The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose PURPOSE is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive friendship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

The United Methodist Women is the largest women’s organization in the United States with emphasis on services for women, youth, and children. For the past 135 years they have been giving support to missions in thousands of communities in every state and in over 100 countries around the world.

All women of Tabernacle are considered members of the United Methodist Women and are encouraged to participate in activities, projects, and special events. Some of these are district prayer breakfast, mission studies, Brunswick Stew Sale, Fried Apple Pie Sale, and serving as worship service greeters.

There are four circles that meet at the church. Becoming a member of a Tabernacle circle provides another level of involvement, fellowship, and Christian support. The circles and meeting times are as follows:

Bethany – 2nd Wednesday/monthly/10:00 am

Fellowship – 2nd Monday/monthly/11:00 am

Friendship – 1st Tuesday/monthly/7:00 pm

Sunshine – 3rd Monday/monthly/7:00 pm
